Living Stones
When we said Yes to Jesus, he turned you and me into living stones. We are bought and paid for by his blood, we are not your own, we are now part of the building material that God is using to build his temple.
God has not just removed one part of our body (our lead pastor) to work on, refresh, shape, and reshape him…He wants to work on and reshape every part of our body so we can fit together like a spiritual house where God lives by his spirit!
The cross was one of the few items rescued from the church fire. We have built a display to help us remember where we came from and where we are going.
Full Vase of Black Rocks: This represents the past, sins, and unhealthy patterns that have no place in God’s family. The leadership and members of CCC publicly confessed and repented of sins and patterns they identified.
They emptied the vase as a symbol of this work.
Empty Vase: This represents a season of 5 years of our church learning to hear God’s voice and say yes to God and his Spirit which prepared us for the unexpected; our Lead Pastor stepped down and our church burned down within 8 days.
Full Vase with White Rocks: On September 10th we held a memorial service on Princess Ave. Everyone was invited to place a white stone in the empty vase. Each stone represented the gifts, hopes, dreams, and prayers of the people. The stones in the vase represent those who walked through the fire. The stones around the vase represent all those believers who will join our family and be a part of what God is building. The stones scattered away from the vase represent all those who do not yet believe, coming to faith, joining our church community, and becoming a part of what God is building.
The display serves as a reminder of all God has done and is doing. We are the living stones that God is shaping and reshaping to fit together to build a spiritual house where he dwells by his spirit.
We are confident in this, that he who began a good work in us will carry it to completion!
