Welcoming Ministry

As followers of Jesus, we need to be welcoming to our church family and any newcomers or guests that attend our Sunday services. We must represent Christ with a warm and inviting spirit, showing kindness and love to all who enter each week. We accomplish this through those who serve in our Welcoming Ministry. The Welcoming Ministry is comprised of the Greeters, Ushers, and Communion Stewards. Read about each and ask God if he is calling you to serve in one of these areas. If so, please fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page and identify which area you’d like to serve in.

Greeters

Who doesn’t love seeing a friendly smile when walking through a door? Our church greeters arrive early to the service and stand near the doors to welcome and greet everyone who walks through with a friendly smile, a shake of the hand, and a hug if appropriate. This small act of service helps all who enter our church feel like they belong here. If you are the type of person who loves making people feel welcome, consider volunteering as a greeter. You can do so by filling out the contact form at the bottom of the page and identifying what area you would like to serve in.

Ushers

Each usher in this ministry should model a friendly welcome, be sensitive to the needs of all those who enter each Sunday and have a servant’s heart. If you are interested in joining the usher team, please fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page.

Practical responsibilities include:

Communion Stewards

Communion Stewards serve in a very simple way. When our pastor would like to perform communion on a Sunday, the Communion Stewards are notified. They then purchase and prepare the elements so that they are ready to be passed around for the service. If this is an area you would like to serve in, please fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page.
