“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.”
~Lord Acton~
The quote by Lord Acton is unfortunately accurate. Not all power is corrupt, but we often see this as truth. Praise God; His absolute power is not corrupt but selfless!
Jesus gave His life for humanity while we were still sinners. While on earth, Jesus gently and humbly sought out the broken and hurting to help restore them.
In Matthew 5:5, Jesus said, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” Meekness is not weakness. Jesus had the power to change the world, but He chose to come humbly. To love the lost. To serve the week.
We will discuss this question at Cross Connection Church on Sunday at 10 am. How do we live a life of meekness?
