When Abraham left Ur for the land God promised him, he did not know where he was going. God never told him where the Promised Land was. So he walked by faith. Being forever faithful, God led him and his family to a land flowing with milk and honey. And Abraham’s descendants could enjoy that land because God’s promise was true.
What kept Abraham driven to follow a God he could not see to an unknown place? Faith. It is because of Abraham’s faith that he could trust God. What drove him through wilderness after wilderness toward the goal? Hope. It was because of Abraham’s hope for God’s promises that he trusted that He would be the father of many nations and possess a land that was not his own.
Faith and hope are powerful tools. They can get us through so much pain and uncertainty in life. But what gives them their power? Love. When our love for God and each other is undeniable, we will walk by faith and cling to hope to see the things of God done in our community.
This Sunday at Cross Connection Church, we will continue our journey through 1 Corinthians 13 as our summer slowly approaches. We will focus on verse 13; “the greatest of these is love.”
We hope you can join us at 10 AM as we seem to remain in love.
What is your faith story?
Can you recognizance Gods love and presence through your journey?
