A Call to Persevere
In the past, we have kicked off January with a month of prayer and fasting. This year coming out of our season of Advent we want to invite our spiritual family into a season of feasting.
Join us as we Feast on the Book of James. This simply means we are inviting our spiritual family to read and reread the book of James while we consider the call to God’s people to Persevere with Joy!
Beginning this Sunday we will hear Testimonies about who God is and how his people have persevered. Expect the stories to challenge and encourage you in your journey with Jesus.
Come prepared to participate in an awesome activity as we will finish what we started at our memorial service on the corner of Princess and Wiliams. Many of you will remember that Darren invited us to take a stone and place it in a vase, representing what we hope for and want for our church moving forward. We look forward to standing together and declaring our great hope for the future!
And then, we want you to be aware that on Tuesday, January 30, we invite you to join us for a day of fasting for our Church Family. We plan to gather as a church family from 630-8 pm at the Salvation Army to worship and pray together specifically for our Church family and future.
I’m looking forward to diving into the book of James this month. I’ve started re-memorizing the first chapter and highly recommend memorizing sections of God’s word as it stays with you. It’s been about 38 years since I decided to memorize the book of James. I only accomplished the first chapter and a half but since God’s word does not return void, those verses have come to mind often, sunk deep in my soul and have helped me greatly.
